IT Support Technician
Summary
The IT Support Technician’s role is to ensure the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. The person will also analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training where required. Position reports to the Director of IT.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Diagnose software and hardware problems
  • Track, prioritize and document requests using the Help Desk request system.
  • Install and configure new computers and other IT equipment
  • Repair and upgrade different types of computers (software and hardware)
  • Identify problems and repair printers, copiers and scanners
  • Train users when required
  • Be willing and able to travel up to 15% and, at times, on short notice.
Qualifications
  • Communication skills using speech and writing
  • Ability to systematically troubleshoot complex problems
  • Ability to work in a Windows 2008 Server environment
  • Valid Driver’s license and vehicle
Education and/or Experience
  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 3 years equivalent work experience.
  • Extensive application support experience with Windows 7 Pro. Familiarity with Windows XP.
  • Application support experience with Macintosh helpful
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007.
  • Knowledge of local area network administration helpful.
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
