Careers Hydrolysis and Enzymology Division
The Enzymology Division works on various enzymes required to hydrolyze cellulose, hemicellulose, and other carbohydrate / non-carbohydrate polymers found in lignocellulosic and other traditional feedstocks. The focus of this division is to improve specific activities and reduce cost of enzymes by means of appropriately formulating enzyme cocktails, improving activities, and reducing protein doses. This division involves in developing advanced hydrolysis processes, such as, SHF, SSF, CSF, in a batch, fed-batch, continuous or combinations mode of operations using (bio)-catalysts, as well involves in improving and optimizing process parameters. The hydrolysis division works closely with fermentation division as well as engineering division to design hydrolysis reactors and scale up.
